It’s no shame to be a liberal
But it’s no great honor either!
Hello, my dear human family. I’m Tevya, the Wasp, and I feel the time is right to weigh in on this place you call Washington and this thing you call politics.
Let me be brief. Your Congress is in gridlock and your President is in dereliction of his duties. The name calling has gotten so out of hand that I am very close to calling out my
boys” to sting a few fools in Congress. Harry Reid and his friend Nancy Pelosi are at the top of the list. Tea Party people are now “anarchists”. Really?
What should be happening and should have happened is a sit down with both sides. Your President Obama should have been at the head of the table and a compromise should have and could have been worked out. The press is very busy blaming the Republicans. As usual, they got it wrong. The Senate went on holiday for the weekend and then refused to come to the table to talk. Your President sees his role as name caller and has no interest in getting his hands dirty. Try this in the private sector and mass firings are on the horizon. Oy vey, where is the outrage? Even if you are in the minority who actually approve of the job your representatives and the President are doing, why do you approve of their refusal to work things out?
The government could have kept on ticking if the Democrats agreed to delay Obamacare so that it could be health care done right. Would that have been such a terrible plan?
I thought you might like to know that while your Congress diddles away with your future, government agencies are on a spending spree. Federal workers have been frantically rushing around trying to spend every last dime of their budget, whether they need anything or not. The deadline for using their allotted funds was October 1st. So, in the great tradition of Washington, the name of the game was “use it or lose it”. Did anyone ever hear of cutting costs? Did anyone ever hear of responsible fiscal policy? This bug thinks not! Your Coast Guard spent $178,000 on their cubicle furniture and your Department of Veteran Affairs bought $562,000 worth of artwork.
If you will excuse me, it is time for me to mete out some justice. I am ready to fly and my stingers are primed.
TO LIFE! Tevya
