Jesus told his disciples in the Garden of Gethsemane to watch and pray so they would not fall under temptation. Sounds like "prayer cover" to me!
The good news is, that as Christians, or believers in Yeshua, the Messiah, Satan and his nasty little demons have already been defeated and disarmed. We do not have to fear Satan. He cannot possess us, but he does still have the power to harass and tempt us. Satan has no direct authority over us. Rather, we make the choice to succumb to Satan's temptations and disobey God. The Armor of God is our protection from demonic attack.
Spiritual warfare, for the the believer, is fought in the mind, the emotions, the will. Spiritual truth is our front line of defense. That is why Paul frequently urges us to be renewed in our minds. The more our minds are filled with the truth of God's Word, the less susceptible we are to the arrows of Satan's temptation and deceptions.
Satan still rules the unbelieving world, so we may encounter Satan in the lives of those around us that do not know Yeshua (Jesus). We should always watch and pray, just as Yeshua instructed the disciples on that fateful night when he was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word. Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints."
