We are bombarded with the labels for Ms. Clinton which bears little or no substance in their justification. She’s been called “the best Secretary of State in the history of the nation” and the “smartest woman in the world”. Really….who decided that? Is Condi Rice dead? I ask that question because I find Ms. Clinton’s intelligence level as demonstrated far below that of Ms. Rice in every fashion. One only has to look to the Benghazi tragedy to sum up her service as Secretary of State. Any other quantifiable measure of her success is quoted in “air miles flown” and “countries visited” in her tenure. No doubt, much like Barack Obama, Ms. Clinton is nothing more than a “liberal fabrication” designed to entice the low-information voter at the polls. My only recollection of her accomplishing anything is tied to some “insider-trading” on livestock she did back in Arkansas and earned a mysteriously healthy return. Would that be considered “intelligence” or just a general disregard for the law? “What difference does it make now, Senator?”
Hillary made her first tour stop speaking to the liberal-minded ABA (American Bar Association) Convention in California this week. The focus of her speech was directed at the recent voter qualification changes enacted in North Carolina. Clinton referred to the changes to voter registration laws in 31 states as an indication that “evident racial discrimination” still exists in America. One thing we can be sure of when a liberal like Clinton speaks…it only takes a few lines to get that old “race card” out on to the table playing both ends against the middle. Once again we have another liberal parading around assigning labels to any actions which they feel will thwart their effort to gain an advantage…legal or otherwise. Hillary Clinton is certainly cut from that well-known piece of fabric.
Ms. Clinton criticized North Carolina for instituting a voter identification requirement at the poll; for reducing the available times for early voting, and for disallowing the process of registering and voting on the same day. As she presents these items, they are all designed to suppress the minority voter. She sees it that way because the alternative suits her desire for running a loose ship when it comes time to cast votes and count them. She refers to the potential for “voter fraud” as some kind of “phantom phenomenon” that literally does not exist because we have not yet caught enough people in the act. Never mind that 140% of the registered voters in the county of Port Ritchie, Florida managed to vote in the last presidential election. A local liberal explained it nicely…”We were upset!”
Let’s get real here folks. Americans are required to present a valid identification to the TSA prior to boarding a passenger aircraft at the airport. Does that represent “racial discrimination” on the part of the TSA? According to Ms. Clinton, it must yet she is not complaining about the requirement. Instead, she would have no identification needed for one of the most important things we do in this nation…vote. What is wrong with being responsible and insuring that only those who are legally qualified to vote do so and do so only once in any election? What is wrong with making sure dead people are not voting in elections? If we need to prove who we are to get on an airplane, then we certainly need to do the same thing in order to vote.
It sickens me that Ms. Clinton would throw down the race card in her quest to fight off voter identification. If that were really her concern, I might give some credence to her argument but I know that is not the case. Her concern is all about maximizing the flexibility to vote and rubbing salt in the wounds of minority groups by insinuating that someone is attempting to disenfranchise them. By the way, just in case you are thinking that this is an exhibition of intelligence, let me correct that notion and stipulate that it is simply another form of liberal manipulation on the part of Ms. Clinton.
North Carolina is not certifying a “college-identification” as an acceptable means to meet the voting requirement and for good reason as that type of identification is rather softly guarded in terms of manufacture and security. North Carolina is also requiring that a person think ahead and “plan to vote” as an election is forthcoming. This has nothing to do with race and everything to do with planning. Why should one be allowed to register and vote in the same 24-hour period? If one does not register, then it is very doubtful they are even interested in the political process and had no intention of voting in the election until some liberal found them and coerced them to vote even though they were clueless on the issues. Voter qualification is a safeguard to our heritage and way of governance in this nation. The potential voter should be “vetted” and that requires some amount of time to accomplish…but Hillary says that it is “racial discrimination”.
I have a few relatives who never elected to get a driver’s license and drive a car, something which was not so uncommon 50+ years ago. As our security has tightened up with recent terrorist activities, the requirements for identification have also increased. My relatives had to plan ahead and secure alternate forms of identification for their cross-country travels by airplane. Was it inconvenient to do…probably, but it was not impossible, and it was not required in any way as a form of “discrimination” as Ms. Clinton would so conveniently paint it. The way Ms. Clinton sees it, if we require a little non-driving white woman to get an identification to vote, that is an “inconvenience” but apply the same rule to a person of color and now we have “racial discrimination”. The logic makes no sense and further makes light of my original point…this is not the “smartest woman in the world” by any stretch of the imagination unless you consider “manipulation” as a form of intelligence.
America is enduring a night-mare in the government of this nation. That nightmare will not end until Barack Obama has left office; Harry Reid is out of the Senate, and Nancy Pelosi departs the House. That nightmare has every opportunity to continue with the advent of Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Oval Office. We can expect to continue to follow the path which Obama has set the nation upon…a march toward the socialist state…a very appealing concept for Ms. Clinton. This concept places government at the very center of our lives and allows people like her to make our personal choices for us. No one needs voter identification in that type of society for no one votes anymore. Just keep the image of Hillary Clinton slamming her balled fist into the tabletop and screaming back at the Senator questioning her on Benghazi, “What difference does it make now, Senator?” That image; that reaction says everything and all you need to know about the purported, “smartest woman in the world”.
