I did say “whining." It seems that Democrat Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu, is much too embarrassed to go to Europe on her Congressional break from government because “Americans do not have healthcare such as that of the Europeans." She is afraid that she might have to justify that position in her jaunt across the European continent, likely at taxpayer expense. I find that position rather stupid and petty and I would suggest that Ms. Landrieu shut up her whining and just get on with spending taxpayer funds on her vacation. Otherwise, if she is going on her own dime, then she can simply answer any questions as “Sorry, I am not here in an official capacity representing America.” If she cannot handle that then maybe the office of United States Senator is a bit of a reach for her.
Of course, this is typical liberal behavior…fending a broken wing and hoping that the pity-angle will make everything alright in the end. We might also note that Ms. Landrieu is up for re-election in 2014 so her whining may be a bit self-centered in its purpose. She needs to strap on that “fighter” face and raise her public voice in the name of those who sit down in Louisiana and fend off oppression on a daily basis. You know the ones…that don’t leave even when the storm of the century is on the horizon. Maybe Ms. Landrieu needs to spend her vacation time touring around in her own State and explaining to folks why she would vote for such a cockamamie piece of legislation that was cooked up by idiots and passed in the dead quiet of a Saturday night backroom deal. We can thank Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for that feat and we can thank Ms. Landrieu for helping out in voting for it. Once the hard-working wage earners of this nation begin the task of attempting to pay for it, we’ll see just what a disaster we have in this law.
Perhaps Ms. Landrieu had secretive longings to be a member of that liberal group, “The Dixie Chicks”. If my memory serves me correctly, they too were embarrassed for America and openly stated it on stage while assigning some choice words to our then president, George W. Bush. Up to that moment in time, you might say that I was quite the “Dixie Chick Fan” but that all changed with the utterance of those now famed words. It was not enough to them to simply shut their mouths and perform their music…no, they had to use that high perch which they once sat upon drunk with the power of celebrity and run their mouths about something they knew so little about yet used it to prove their liberal, naïve mindset.
Ms. Landrieu’s position on the state of healthcare in this nation is that of a typical “socialist” who cares little about the fiscal burden of anything but justifies it on the emotions of wanting a chicken in every pot. She probably whined to daddy back when the neighbor girl down the street got a new car and she was so embarrassed to drive her old one. Did it matter whether or not “daddy” could afford a new one for her…absolutely not…that is why they have credit in America. People who think like Senator Landrieu will break America’s back financially in short order and then be among the first in line to demand to know what just happened. Well, to start with, the people of Louisiana elected an idiot to the job of U.S. Senator…what else do you need to know?
What if Senator Landrieu’s comment had been, “I so hate to travel Europe and have to explain to all those who ask me why America is not yet a ‘socialist state’….it’s so burdensome?” Well, look at it this way Ms. Landrieu…you wanted the damned job. If you have trouble defending America then take off that title of Senator and get on down the road with your own business instead of using the media to hype your whiny misery about vacationing abroad. Is there not some medication that can be taken for a condition such as this? Ms. Landrieu could certainly use a double-dose of it and maybe a whiskey-backer to wash it down.
As a nation of voters, we have spent decade upon decades filling the halls of Congress with people like Landrieu who want to essentially take money from one sector of the population and hand it to another. Of course, since the money passes through Washington on its way, they hope that some of it might just come to rest in their pockets…what a windfall for such a stressful job! For too long we have allowed such people to spend money like drunken sailors slowly eroding away programs such as Social Security, which would have remained solvent had they not got their little mitts into the funds. They dig the debt hole deeper with each passing year and they spend more and more of what we do not have…money. But that is okay…we can borrow it, or, just print some more! What is the harm in that?
Of course Senator Landrieu has no problem taking her six-figure annual salary and her outrageous self-appointed benefits as a U.S. Senator while waving her finger toward the poor-side of town and asking what America plans to do for those folks over there. No, she has no problem with that hypocritical approach no more so than ol’ Bob on television who stands up there beside a hungry and starving child in Africa and begs us to send money to him so that he can feed these kids. In truth, in the “War on Poverty”, America has exhausted over $15 trillion dollars since the 1960’s and the only thing we have to show for it is more poverty than we had when the war began. That is the type of outcome someone like Senator Landrieu can appreciate and rationalize at the same time.
Americans need to start asking themselves how we can come up with enough money such that Ms. Landrieu and her ilk on the Left do not have to be embarrassed anymore for America. Let’s just see how embarrassed Senator Landrieu may be when it becomes apparent that the middle-income wage-earner in America is dying under the financial burden of ObamaCare. When that day finally becomes a reality, and it will, Senator Landrieu will no longer have to travel to the other side of the tracks in New Orleans to witness poverty…it will be right in front of her on every corner of the street. Then she can express her embarrassment at having to be seen with so many “poor folks” here in America…why, some of them are as poor as those stricken in poverty in Europe!
Let’s buck up now, Senator Landrieu and get it together. Let’s explain to those who might want to know in Europe that we, as Americans, are still attempting to hold together our republic and fend off the ways of the socialist state which Europe has so-readily embraced. We are still trying to ask the question which any good accountant would employ…”Can we afford that here?” Sometimes, that answer is a resounding “NO!” Your sworn duty, as a U.S. Senator, is to protect and defend the Constitution and support a form of government which Americans long since gone in our history determined was the way which was best for all of us over the long haul. If you find that oath to be too much or too embarrassing then maybe you need to take your whiny ass back to Louisiana and get daddy to buy you a new car.
