Possibly one aspect of the President’s somber mood might be that Benghazi is about to rear its head once again in Congressional hearings. Secretary of State Kerry has already been begging Congress to just move on and use their time more wisely. Funny….Kerry has no axe to grind here and none of his own dirt to cover, what does he care what Congress does with Benghazi? Can you say “Water-Boy”? That’s right—John Kerry is just another one who is in waiting to be thrown under the bus by Obama. In the meantime, he will do everything he can to protect Obama including attempts to deflect more action on Benghazi. When so many people are so interested in turning everyone away from a subject, you can bet there is some fire there and it is still smoldering.
Syria is also causing the president a lot of heartburn as there is not a good side to be on there and atrocities are rumored to have taken place, atrocities which Obama has already said publicly are “over the line”. Of course, if this administration is going to address such actions, they first must acknowledge that something has taken place. That step just might be their out as they seem to be very accomplished at claiming particular things never took place during this administration.
The hair standing on the back of my neck tells me that more digging into Benghazi will eventually tie that situation to the problems in Syria. Oh yes, this sensitivity to Benghazi has nothing to do with the untimely death of four Americans so much as it has to do with the Benghazi-Syrian connection in terms of arms for certain parties in the Syrian fight. The Ambassador could have probably explained it in great detail for us had he survived that unfortunate situation. My gut tells me that he and Obama know more about what has taken place there than anybody else in government circles. But alas, Ambassador Stevens is deceased thus Obama is the only one who really knows for sure what role the ambassador and Benghazi played in the downfall of Egypt and the on-going problems in Syria. Of course, if Congress keeps calling folks to talk, sooner or later, something just might get out of the bag. Is it not funny that folks in the Obama Administration do not think it is a good idea for the survivors of Benghazi to testify? Wonder why?
Just last week, we had spokespersons for the administration as well as some of the media bobble-telling us that the Boston bombing was the act of two domestic terrorists who carried out their evil alone and that we needed to close the books on this on and move on. Now, we have female DNA showing up on some of the bomb fragments and at least a dozen “people of interest” pinpointed by the FBI for questioning, half of which reside in Russia. The suggestion was made today that someone dropped the ball in regard to the two bombers and the insinuation was that it was the Russians who did so. That is interesting since it was the Russians in the first place who warned the USA to watch these guys and requested that the FBI question the older brother. I would contend that “we” are the ones who decided that there was no spark in this smoke and turned our heads in another direction. But, if the Obama Administration can blame the Russians, everyone but the Russians looks a lot better in the end.
Apparently, through the leadership of the Obama Administration, we have become a “confused nation”. You see, it is impossible to call anything what it really is with these folks thus we have totally confused ourselves about what we need to do next. The administration cannot afford to have any Islamic types show up with their fingerprints on the Boston bombing or anything else for that matter. They walk on egg shells up there defending their position by saying they want to avoid jumping to any conclusions. Well, how many Islamic connections does one guy need before there is a tie? If we are not careful, someone might blow us up while we have our head in the sand.
Gun control or to use a more “Obama-like” reference…”the curbing of gun violence” seems to have stalled in its legislative progress as even those who sit on the liberal side of the aisle are beginning to feel the political heat. The vast majority of the people want nothing done in terms of the 2nd Amendment rights but apparently agree that the focus needs to be on “curbing mental illness” in folks running loose on the street. Here again, the attempt to call it something besides what it really is seems to be doing nothing to improve the lot of the situation.
We have much the same case with illegal immigration. Obama wants “reform” which he wants to sell as a way of making our immigration system more effective in managing immigration and the path to citizenship. In effect, he really just wants to quickly create about 15 million liberal Democrat voters before the 2014 mid-term elections. 90% or more of the people want something done in terms of border security and Obama does not want to hear it because it does not fit the agenda model he has in mind. Border security undermines the gain in the voter column by in-coming illegals who will receive certain rights and privileges under his reforms. Remember, nothing with Obama is as it seems so any suggestion of a “reform plan” would simply be a lie to disguise the fact that they are going to try to do what they want to if they can get enough votes to push some legislation through the halls of Congress. The question becomes, “will the Republicans sell out the majority of Americans on this issue” in the name of political harmony and the desire to gain the approval of the Latino voting block? That is where the beef is boys and girls. That’s where it is.
With so many things dragging out, the old clock is ticking and agenda items are not getting ticked off as rapidly as Obama would like. If this keeps up, there will be very little time to attack Cap & Trade measures before Obama leaves office. Too many problems are surfacing in the implementation phase of ObamaCare and that will not play well for gun-control, immigration, or Cap & Trade. When one is working the “sleight of hand”, the impressions made on the audience are all about timing and the timing is not so hot right now. More Benghazi hearings, especially any that contain substance, could really blow the wheels off of everything and leave the liberal locomotive smoking on the track. One can only surmise that there just might be too many balls in the air for those attempting to keep them from hitting the floor.
Of course, Obama could not get through a press conference without some criticism of the sequestration and a healthy pointing of fingers to attempt to make it the fault of the Republicans. Obama made it clear in the election that “sequestration will never happen”. Well, it did. Obama still cannot believe that his foot is caught in the bear trap that he set for those on the right. Given the opportunity to prioritize the cuts and make life a bit more practical, Obama declined hoping for the obvious. We cannot afford to pay air traffic controllers to be on duty but we can afford almost one million dollars in outlay for the UN ambassador’s garden in Belgium? Huh? We no longer afford tours at the White House but we can give the Muslim Brotherhood $250 billion dollars as a gesture of friendship. We cannot make it to Lady Margaret Thatcher’s funeral but we are willing to speak at the Planned Parenthood National Conference? How much of this do we have to observe to know what we have sitting in the Oval Office today?
This president is up to his ears in problems with Syria, more than the American public knows and far more than the press is willing to report. Benghazi is the smoking gun that still hangs out there like a door ajar for Obama but he wants it closed and locked. Ambassador Stevens is gone and the whole affair just needs to go away; all the more reason that it should not. Not during the remainder of his term; not during the mid-term 2014 elections, and certainly not during the 2016 presidential campaign to put Hilary Clinton into the Oval Office. John Kerry’s credibility as a witness became questionable many, many years ago and we certainly do not need to close the door on the subject on the basis of his opinion—water-boy for Obama that he is.
So, oil up your crying-towels folks and get ready for the Obama pity party. Maybe if he can get enough folks feeling sorry for him, he can get his outrageous budget demands and his liberal legislation through Congress and continue on his agenda to dismantle the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights contained within. Maybe it is time for him to take a lead from the “Boy-General” of North Korea and just offer to blow up everything, that should get him the attention that he wants. After all, they have a lot in common when one thinks about it.
Get those White House televisions tuned into “The Waltons” re-runs and let’s get crying with John-Boy and Barack!
