The ink on the agreement is not yet dry and already Iranian officials are complaining that President Obama is lying to the American people with regard to its particulars. Based on Obama’s history, I would tend to side with the Iranians on that accusation. That is also the point on the two-to-one ratio polling—most of those folks polled likely do not understand the particulars except to say that they are expressing their opinion that they’d rather have peace than go to war. Obama is more than happy to debate the issue because every minute spent on this farce of an agreement is one less minute spent on ObamaCare or any of the other lingering scandals hovering over this administration.
Praising the outcome of the agreement efforts, Secretary of State John Kerry pointed out that “there is no blue sky between the U.S. and Israel” which was a reference to the goals achieved with the agreement with Iran. That reference may well turn out to be a very stupid statement, ranking right up there with Nancy Pelosi’s assessment of the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare): “But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it away from the controversy.” In fact, based on the outcome of the agreement with Iran, I would suggest that no-one in the USA read this agreement either prior to signing off on it. Kerry, a self-described hero of the Vietnam War, acted as the “highly-obedient water-boy” for the President, grabbing anything he could to serve as a new deflection shield for Mr. Obama who was suffering the wrath of the American people over his dishonesty regarding ObamaCare. You might say Kerry was a “hero” of the moment. . . Jane Fonda style!
Iran required three things to gain their signature to the agreement: time, containment-relief, and the lifting of economic sanctions. They essentially gained all three, thus their goals were more than met. The agreement gives them the leeway to continue enriching uranium—the central activity to successfully achieving a nuclear weapon—thus time is on their side. The containment of this program through the inspection process is limited to the facilities so designated by Iranian officials; the rest are off-limits to inspectors, thus rendering "containment" a rather “wide-open” concept. Finally, the sanctions will progressively be lifted assuming Iran stays within the agreement. Given the limited operating range of the inspection process, that should not be an issue for Iran. Thus, we can close our eyes and assume, based on the inspections that Iran is in compliance. Everything will be “hunky-dory” until that first weapon explodes over Israel. By that point, Obama and Kerry will be out of the spotlight. . .hopefully!
President Obama has thumbed his nose at Israel since his first days in office, and this agreement with Iran is nothing short of the biggest thumb yet. Because of the holes in this agreement and the lack of stated discipline with which Iran must adhere to it, Israel has been left to its own devices on the survival front. This is not news to Israel, as that nation has never really cast its lot with relying on anyone but itself for survival. What this outcome does guarantee is that, at some point, when Israel defines clearly that a weapon development is forthcoming, there will be an all-out attack on Iran to eliminate the threat. At that point in time, I would not want to be living in Iran, as the Israelis have a way of turning a place into a living hell when they are pushed to do so. In effect, Israel will have to carry out the actions which Obama and Kerry did not have the stomach for politically, and they will do so for their survival as a nation.
Meanwhile, back in the USA, the economy will continue to falter under the Keynesian formulas carried out by Obama under the direction of his “Little General,” Valerie Jarrett. Spending will continue at break-neck levels while debt piles up driven by the disaster that is ObamaCare. Job opportunities will continue to diminish; the military will shrink in size and capacity; and the Constitution will be rife with holes from the relentless attacks of Obama and his minions. Many Americans will simply conclude, “Okay, Obama was wrong. Let’s fix it back the way it was.” Sadly, too much time will have passed and we will no longer have those entities and assets required to “make it like it was.” This is the destructive nature of “Obama’s Reign.” It is not just a disagreement in politics, but a total ideological shift to the left—a fast trip down the road to socialism. The fabric that was America is being ravaged at this point just as surely as Israel will be ravaged by Iran if they sit back and wait for the USA to save them.
Our value system in America is in shambles, and great credit belongs to the Obama Administration for its efforts to put it there. Our nation is on the ropes both domestically and internationally, while far too many of those who make up our population sit blindly waiting for another promise of something free from a government whose only desire is to exercise total control over them. One point is evident: if the people of Israel are as blind as the people of America when it comes to the threat of attack, they have no future in this world. But here’s the difference: if Israel ceases to exist, it will be because of outside forces, while the USA will succumb to internal forces eating away at it like termites in an old building.
At some point in our near-term future, Iran will develop a nuclear weapon and they will use it to demonstrate their hatred toward the people of Israel. Blindly, we here in America will be sitting back listening to the conclusions of hampered inspectors and an “Obama-Worshipping” media telling us how well Iran has complied with the terms of the nuclear agreement obtained by the “water-boy war hero,” John Kerry. At that point, we can say our prayers for the people of Israel and express our disappointment that more was not done truly in their interest. History, if it still exists by then, can add a footnote to the “Legacy of Obama”: It was all George Bush’s fault.”
