Both Brian Williams and former news anchor for CBS, Dan Rather, are aglow explaining that the so-called Trump-Russia connection may well exceed Watergate as far as political scandals go. It really makes you wonder where ol’ Dan was with respect to Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified documents. I can tell you where he was—dismissing her misconduct as a non-event. You see, ol’ Dan is a life-time Democrat and he never talks bad about one of his own no matter what. On the other hand, you might remember his last hurrah was an episode on 60 Minutes in which he attempted to impugn George W. Bush by asserting his family had used its influence to get him into the National Guard to keep him out of Vietnam. Further, Rather reported that Mr. Bush more or less went AWOL. This was nothing less than a hit piece, since Bush was running for reelection against Senator John Kerry at the time. Rather was let go after it was determined that, in his rush to tar Bush, he had not done due diligence with respect to his sources or the veracity of their claims.
Political assassinations are what the Left and media do best, but unfortunately the current attacks on President Trump are also being conducted by Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham. These two go out of their way to discredit Trump at every turn and yet both lacked the courage and conviction to confront Barack Obama and his lawlessness for eight long years. Obama worked tirelessly to divide America along racial, class, and sexual identity lines, and these rats sat by and watched him do it. Now that we have a president willing to right the ship, they are actively opposing him. In this regard, they are exactly like their liberal brethren: nothing should interfere with their pork-barreling with lobbyists, trading tax dollars for votes, and generally grabbing all the power they can to enable lucrative careers and retirement. One third of the power in the checks and balances of our federal government is overrun with scumbags like this.
The good news is Trump has dealt with more than his share of low-lives in the course of doing business so this is nothing new to him. In his first month in office, one thing has become clear—Donald Trump will address an issue and take action but that action will be designed to appease his supporters, not the media. Trump fired Michael Flynn and, at a recent impromptu press conference, took pains to praise Mr. Flynn—in effect, speaking directly to the American people. At the same time, he underscored his reason for doing so, and that is far more than I could ever say of Barack Obama—he never held anyone accountable. You see, Obama could not afford to do so, because in most cases, he was in as deep as the people doing his bidding. Trump would have fired Lois Lerner and prosecuted Hillary Clinton. He is doing exactly what I expect of a leader in such a high post—he’s taking care of business. Will mistakes be made? Yes, because mistakes always happen when you are “doing something.” It is only by doing nothing that you avoid pitfalls—e.g., the inaction of Obama in the Middle East has left it a mess.
Donald Trump fought his way to the top of the business world—a place he could have stayed and basked in his wealth and the businesses that he created. Instead, he chose to leave the private sector and take on the task of trying to save a country. He fought Republics tooth and nail to win the nomination and then he fought the Clinton machine, the Democrats and their corrupt tactics, the media, and a whole bunch of RINO’s to win the election. Yes, I said win. No one bought it for him, not even the Russians who surely could have had they wanted to. But never you mind folks; the media will continue to do its level best to convince you otherwise, even though they are short on details. Just how did the Russians hand the election to Donald Trump? By uncovering some inconvenient truths and dirty dealings about the DNC and Mrs. Clinton? Notice that no-one has disputed what they found. No, they are too busy whining about the timing of the hacks.
Trump’s supporters have not been swayed. Trump knows that. He knows the American people are still behind him. That is the reason that he stood outside his press office and pointed to the thousands upon thousands of people in attendance and openly asked the surrounding media, “Where do you suppose all those people came from?” He was not attempting to change the subject, he was simply making the point that the media so does not want to acknowledge. Trump is truly a man of the people. Unlike Barack Obama who has exalted visions of his own intelligence, Trump truly is smarter than most people think. Time will prove it. Just watch.
