Do you believe that it is the case because, we, as a public, care more about what happens to George Zimmerman than we care about other significant actions of our government? Do we care more about the Zimmerman case that we do for the dead of Benghazi, or, the relentless ease-dropping on our private lives by the NSA, or the use of an out-of-control IRS as a political weapon in what otherwise should be a level playing field for non-profit organizations? I seriously doubt that is the case although the bulk of the American media would like you to think it so and, at the same time, stand more than willing to see to it that this is the news you get whether you desire that focus or not.
Why is that? The answer is relatively easy to see. The American media is filled with left-wing bleeding hearts that only entered the journalism field because they believed that they could use their writing abilities to improve the world to a point where we would all sit around the campfire and sing Kum-Ba-Ya together in harmonious love. They care little for facts…facts are distractions which do not always fit well in stories and allow them to flow smoothly toward a predetermined outcome. Stories like the Boston Bombers and George Zimmerman allow those pundits the opportunity to create personalities whether they exist or not. They paint the pallet and shape the details but stop short of telling you, the listening public, that their story is based on emotional conjecture more than anything else.
The media, being mostly liberal, worships at the feet of the anointed savior (in their opinion) of the USA and the world…Barack Hussein Obama. Never has a president had so much media-support from a media that flat refuses to do it public duty when it comes to reporting anything that might reflect negatively on Obama or his agenda and programs. If Obama remarked that Trayvon Martin looked like a son of his if he had a son, the jig was up. From that point forward, Trayvon was a total victim and George Zimmerman was the monster who killed the “president’s child”. And, he did it out of racial hatred…nothing less. From the point that George Zimmerman turned himself in to law enforcement, he was a convicted criminal in the eyes of the media who just needed to be sentenced.
Racism fuels the flames of societal division and that suits the needs of those who thrive on public conflict or make money off of the sustainment of racial-friction. Apparently it suits the agenda of this administration which did its share to suggest a “racial” aspect in the first place as Attorney General, Eric Holder, held forth with “Reverend Al” (Sharpton) who was also in town hawking the same angle. By the time that Holder, Sharpton, and Jackson had left Florida, the lynch mobs were already forming and George Zimmerman was already a guilty representative of the white race…ignoring his true ethnicity.
In terms of the media, the Zimmerman trial could not have begun at a better time. As each day passed with minimal focus on the Obama scandals in the news, it was becoming quite obvious that the media was refusing to play its role in getting to the bottom of the story. There were no tough or recurring questions being asked…the questions the public wanted answered. The Zimmerman case became a wonderful event which shut down the fires surrounding Obama’s inept administration. With the focus on Zimmerman, the media could go on the offensive and tear at the fresh red meat like hungry wolves running down their prey. There was no need to walk softly or tip-toe around the edge….Zimmerman was guilty and the media was more than ready to prove it. Too bad the bulk of that industry did not hold some of the same emotional drive in the scandals surrounding the presidency.
Now, with the aftermath of the Zimmerman verdict taking shape, the media can continue ignoring everything else and report the fervor surrounding the demonstrations and backlashes which are bound to occur in some parts of the country…especially with a ready and willing media lined up to grab the news of those activities as soon as they happen. If such circumstances do not evolve, it will amount to a gross failure on the part of the American public in the eyes of the American media. It is not enough to allow a jury to do its assigned task and accept the outcome...not when a media-inflamed lynch mob is waiting outside with a rope.
The question which comes to mind is, “How can the Justice Department justify opening an investigation of Zimmerman when a team of 35 FBI agents have already picked that carcass clean and found nothing?” Who is kidding who here? Is this simply a pacification stall on the part of the administration hoping that idle talk of continued prosecution will forego any public conflicts such as riots or attacks? Somehow, I do not buy that perspective in that the Obama Administration seems to thrive on division and public conflict as a means to point the finger at the political opposition for the blame game. One only has to look to the situation in Egypt to realize that the Obama Administration tends to bobble everything it touches in terms of injecting any sense of calm and peace.
The alternative which comes to mind is whether or not the administration is willing to “cook the books” on Zimmerman in order to gain an outcome desired by some sector of the population. Based on prior shenanigans associated with the various scandals surrounding this administration, I would say that possibility is not beyond the pale, especially in light of the fact that Eric Holder is involved. Keep in mind that this is the guy who “cooked the books” on the Fast and Furious Project. When it comes to the Obama Administration getting what it desired...there are no potential avenues that are considered off-limits. I cringe at the thought that Eric Holder’s name is even associated with anything that relates to justice in this country.
We have a nation which is quickly developing along the same culture and violence as the City of Chicago. If things cannot be controlled and the peace maintained in one city, then how is it to be done over an entire nation? Think about that concept for a while and you might just decide that “Marshal Law” could easily be an alternative if conditions surrounding the Zimmerman case are more enflamed. Given that premise, the President and his collective leaders should be working in a manner to reinforce the fact that justice has been served in the case and that Zimmerman has been investigated, vetted, tried, and found “not guilty” of the charges against him. Our justice system works when the proper process is followed. On the other hand, when things are twisted and turned in order to achieve a desired outcome as could be the case with any future actions toward Zimmerman, then we see the wheels beginning to fall off our judicial heritage as a nation.
The media has the opportunity to play a key role in this process of calming the emotions on both sides of the aisle. To continue to report the news surrounding this case in a manner which suggests that Zimmerman is guilty but he has not been prosecuted in a proper manner to reach that conclusion is to fan the flames of division and racial friction. A responsible media would be pointing out the obvious justice in our legal system when the laws are followed and the rights of the accused are respected by a court of law. Somehow, I feel the outlook and attitude would be entirely different if the accused had been Trayvon Martin as the killer of George Zimmerman and he was found “not guilty”. In that scenario, the media would be hyping the “correctness” of the verdict I believe. Mr. Zimmerman deserves the same consideration from the courts, the media, and from the people of this nation.
