Now I realize that Obama goes around comparing himself to Abraham Lincoln and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, but let me say emphatically that his saying it doesn’t make it so. There is nothing about Obama or his tenure in office that even slightly suggests that this is a man of greatness. To the contrary, he is a miserable and abject failure as a president and without a doubt history will record him as such. Sadly, though, as long as liberals write our history, those truths will be buried.
Obama just vetoed a bill that would have required him and other government officials to live under the umbrella of ObamaCare—just like the rest of the us. Here is a medical insurance program designed by the federal government under his watch, unofficially bearing his name, and promoted by him as the best thing that has ever happened to the American people. For all of his soapbox rhetoric, evidently ir is not good enough for him, which he made clear with his veto. One would think that after such ballyhooing Mr. Obama would proudly use his eponymous program. Yeah, right—should happen about the time when hell freezes over.
Dr. Martin Luther King was a great man, an advocate of peace between the races. He pushed for his own people to better themselves and asked those who were mired in the past to open their minds to change. Obama’s efforts in this regard have set any progress in race relations back decades. He has openly promoted conflict between the races and inappropriately inserted himself into controversial situations, almost tacitly endorsing protest and violence as a means to an end. If you are going to compare Barack Obama to anyone, I suggest you compare him to that rabble rouser “Reverend” Al Sharpton.
Obama promised his administration would be the most transparent ever and yet, the only place this transparency is obvious is with respect to our border security: we have none, and clearly Barack Obama has no intention of pursuing one. Instead, he paints himself as some kind of global humanitarian, letting in thousands of refugees who are fleeing persecution, hardship and danger, knowing we lack the ability to vet them. He must want to run out to the shoreline and yell, Welcome weary travelers and future potential liberal voters! We have awaited your arrival! Then, when Americans rightly object to importing the unknown, he attempts to shame us by inferring we are afraid of "widows and children." Oddly, in the pictures I’ve seen those women and children must be hiding behind the muscular, combat-age Syrian men. Pardon me, President Obama, but the Trojan horse that you ordered has arrived. Shall I place it in the Rose Garden, sir? Since when is such blind stupidity a qualifier for getting your image on Mt. Rushmore? I wish we could chalk it up to blind stupidity, but he knows exactly what is happening here, and it is all in line with his agenda for the USA.
The fiscal state of our nation is in shambles and getting worse by the day. On Obama’s watch alone, our national debt has doubled. Obama stumbles around talking about how he has reduced our annual spending as if he has accomplished something. In reality, he has only slowed the rate by which our debt is measured. In seven years, Obama has been unable to produce a single annual budget that even members of his own party can support. Instead, he submits absurd budgets that he knows will be turned down, then chides Congress for making him operate on continuing-resolutions. Since continuing-resolutions are essentially an open checkbook for the federal government, this is exactly what Obama wants. Oh yeah, that’s the guy I want up on Mt. Rushmore!
Please! Someone make me a list of something the Obama Administration has accomplished. Oh, right! He nailed Osama Bin Laden. Well, la-dee-dah! That exceptional feat may have merit as the one instance in which Obama exhibited more courage than Bill Clinton. On the other hand, though, maybe Obama wasn’t as smart as Bill Clinton in this instance. You have to admit killing Bin Laden did wonders for terrorism around the world, did it not? Jihadist recruitment has never been higher since, in killing him, Obama may have unwittingly created a martyr and legend.
Anyone who points out the failures and shortcomings of the Obama Administration is usually labeled a racist and a bigot by those who blindly support his agenda—these would be the same people who are calling for his face to be chiseled into Mt. Rushmore. The irony here is that the very demand itself springs from a reverse racism that ignores Obama’s record and places him on Rushmore simply because he is our first black president.
It took 14 years to carve the faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt into the edifice of Mt. Rushmore. I submit to you that Mr. Obama has done and will do more damage to the USA in eight years than the fourteen years it took to honor these great American heroes.
