I believe the reason Mr. Obama can spout such nonsense is a result of the many years he sat at the feet of his Communist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis—a man who blames American colonialism for impoverished third world countries. Young minds of mush are easily influenced, especially when they are not taught to question (the Socratic method). Instead, they marvel at the intelligence of the orator. Then, like a myna bird, they mimic everything they hear—it’s more important to sound impressive than to engage in critical thinking. Yeah, it’s stupid, and it’s a never-ending cycle. Just look at those who defend Obama.
The U.S. Constitution is likely one of the few documents ever created that comes nearest to attaining perfection. First and foremost, it was written in simple language so the common man could read and comprehend it. Second, from the very first words, We the People, it cedes the power to create the framework of government and the rules that will constrain that power to the people. And third, the founders of the Constitution recognized what they called “Natural Law”— that man has certain God-given and thus unalienable rights: the rights to life, liberty, and personal property. Now, you tell me: what is culturally flawed about that?
Article by article and section by section, the Constitution defines the make-up of the government, the manner in which those occupying the elected positions of legislative, executive, and judicial branches shall be qualified, elected and serve, etc., etc. At the same time, those articles and sections also define the limits of power of those branches. So far, I haven’t detected a propensity toward cultural prejudice, have you? Then there are the amendments to the Constitution, the most familiar of which are the first ten known as The Bill of Rights. Given Mr. Obama’s background and teachings, perhaps these are what he perceives as culturally flawed? Could it be the prohibition of government to deny the right of freedom of speech or the press? What about the right to bear arms contained in the Second Amendment? We know that this one sticks in Obama’s craw and he’d probably like to confiscate every gun owned by law-abiding citizens. But again, what am I missing here? How is the right to bear arms a cultural flaw? Seems to me in his old stomping ground of Chicago anyone who wants to arm themselves for good or evil is free to do so.
Is the fact that the Constitution recognizes our rights as being not given by man but given by God-as-Creator something Mr. Obama deems culturally flawed, something that makes the document inherently kindly disposed toward Christians and unfair to the atheists? Never mind the fact that those who came to this country were seeking the very rights and freedoms conferred upon them by the Constitution—i.e., the right to religious liberty—and they are very careful on this point. Perhaps in Obama’s eyes these are the very same people who turned around and sought to colonize the world by greedily consuming its bounty. Perhaps this is why he goes around the world bowing down, kissing hands, and apologizing for the very existence of the American people. But even if you believe this, this could not be construed as “culturally flawed” either.
Our founding fathers foresaw the coming of Barack Obama and those like him. They saw it because they understood history and man’s proclivities concerning power and corruption. Barack Obama, the man who was to be the most transparent leader in our time, the man who so wanted to transform America from superpower status to one better suited to fit the new world order of global governance (socialism), has been constrained in his efforts by that imperfect little document referred to as the Constitution. Maybe that’s culturally flawed?
Let us be clear. The Constitution has been an irritant to Mr. Obama—a cumbersome and unfair impediment to his efforts to put America on his moral high ground, which, evidently, only he can see. In truth, we must thank God for it. Those in the other branches of government sworn to uphold their offices and protect the Constitution have long since gutlessly crawled into their political foxholes to wait out the storm or worse, profit politically from their inaction later. They have failed the Constitution and us. But make no mistake: Obama’s accusation that the Constitution is “culturally flawed” is simply whining from a man not getting his way—there is nothing in that elegant piece of writing that confers rights only to some and not others. And this is because our Founders wisely understood there are no rights that do not, in fact, come from the Creator–and you can’t improve on that.
