Mrs. Clinton was quick to point out that her husband would be given a role that utilizes his expertise and that his responsibilities as first spouse would far exceed those of any other “first spouse” to date. Perhaps she is envisioning Bill in the role of economic czar. You see, beyond the Food Stamp program, another thing Franklin D. Roosevelt instituted was the concept of Czars. During his tenure as President, FDR appointed eleven czars, followed by Harry Truman, who appointed six. Later presidents appointed fewer than half a dozen each, until George W. Bush came along and felt compelled to appoint 33. Not to be outdone, Barack Obama has appointed 38. Mind you, the title of “czar” is unofficial, they are more or less advisory positions. The trouble is, these czars have power and very little oversight, protected as they are by executive privilege. Sounds ideal for Bill, right?
In typical Clinton revisionist history, Hillary has given her husband sole credit for creating a robust economy even though it was President Reagan who set the wheels in motion. Progress was slow but that engine was chugging along steadily when Bill Clinton took the wheel. If Mr. Clinton is due any credit, it would be for having the brains to leave it alone. The economic recovery was by no means owing to the efforts of the federal government alone. To the contrary, it was an economy created by a president who was wise enough to know that the best thing the government can do is get out of the way and let the private sector thrive. And therein lies the proverbial fly in the ointment. As President Ms. Clinton will never leave the private sector alone. She is far too consumed by the desire for wealth redistribution to leave it be.
In effect, Bill Clinton will become the “government lobbyist” with the private sector, flying around to major corporations and promising them a favorable ROI (return on investment) if they find it in their hearts to make a generous donation to the Clinton Foundation. Essentially, it is the same modus operandi used by both Reverends Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton, i.e., one palm greasing the other for the benefit of all. Of course, in law enforcement circles this might be referred to as “extortion,” but who worries about that when your wife is sitting in the seat that appoints the Attorney General and/or members of the Supreme Court? If you think prosecuting Hillary Clinton is an uphill battle now, just wait and see how much worse it gets if she wins in November.
In March during a CNN town hall Mrs. Clinton said, “ We're going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business," but by May her campaign trotted out Bill to do damage control. He didn’t back down from that comment, but urged the 650 people attending the elementary school speech to vote for his wife because she has a plan to spend $30 billion to create jobs and retrain these people. No doubt George Soros applauds these plans since he intends to snap up as much of our coal resources as he can to sell to China where they will burn it to run an electrical grid that is almost 90% powered by coal. China has less than 50 years of coal reserves and a mining industry rife with safety and pollution issues—and yet Barack Obama and Mrs. Clinton will help to facilitate the transaction. The irony of those greenhouse gassers Obama, Clinton and Soros selling out to China would be rich if it weren’t so devastating to coal country. And yes, some coal miners might go back to digging, but it won’t be for us.
One thing that seems to be a running thread with all of the liberal ilk—they believe the solution to every issue lies in creating a larger and larger central government that controls every aspect of our lives and acts as the “decision-maker” as to who benefits by the money that you earn. Ms. Clinton is cut from that cloth. She worships at the feet of all before her who have espoused it and she cannot wait to gain a position of power that will let her leave her mark on the destruction of this nation. You see, she is not worried about destroying a country that she, like Barack Obama, loathes. She intends to create a new one that is far more Utopian that anything we have today. Forget claims that socialism has a history of failure in the world and realize that Hillary is in charge and that, for some, is all it will take to make the difference.
Ms. Clinton will tout her husband’s economic skills all the way to the November election, attempting to remind voters that she is “married to the magic,” the man who righted the economy and created jobs for them back in the 90’s. Mind you, she is not promising anyone anything of substance but doing what she’s always done: riding Bill’s coattails. Still, she hopes nostalgia for better days will boost her numbers. It’s not much, but it’s all she’s got.
