Let us take for example the "Tea Party." Now, for those of you who do not know, the Tea Party is not really a “party” per se, as it is a movement or belief system with regard to politics and government. Those who subscribe to Tea Party thinking firmly believe that today's federal government is grossly mismanaged and out of control. They believe that our elected officials have no fiscal restraint and no accountability. They believe that government is too large and inefficient. They believe the national debt and the budget shortfalls need urgent attention. And, most of all, they believe that the Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and The Rule of Law are the gospel when it comes to governing this nation. So, what is wrong with all of that? you ask. I cannot tell you. For some reason inconceivable to me, you will have to ask the liberals on the Left who appear to oppose all of it.
The Left apparently fears the Tea Party philosophy and attempts on a daily basis to light fires in the media to create a mindset of evil that is associated with it. In other words, if you agree with the Tea Party, you are falling into evil ways, and you are a racist who lacks all sense of compassion. The thought is ludicrous, but the “sheep” in our population tend to run away from any labels which they might have to defend. Liberals do not defend anything--they simply label it and hope that it will sink out of sight under the label's weight. Luckily, we still have some people in this country who understand its history and heritage and are not willing to see it destroyed by a bunch of liberal politicians bent on “transforming” the United States of America into some socialist gulag encased in barbed wire and built on the foundation of fairness and equality for all.
On the one hand, President Barack Obama wants to treat the Tea Party as if it is a mere gnat flitting around his face. On the other, he has stated that the inability of his programs (such as ObamaCare) to gain any real popularity with the majority of the people is directly due to the actions of Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party. Now, I don’t know about you, but from my perspective, that is like trying to have it both ways. In effect, he wants you to believe that the Tea Party is of no consequence, but when it becomes apparent that his programs are based on lies, then he wants you to believe that the Tea Party is a significant player in creating this awareness. Do you see the inconsistency and confusion here?
California Congressman Henry Waxman just recently announced that he will retire from his office after 40 years in that seat. Waxman has made a career out of living off of taxpayers since almost the time he graduated from law school. He has little or no experience in the private sector, and he has never worked to earn a wage a day in his life. Nevertheless, he has spent 40 years concocting regulations and processes all designed to control the private sector and place the power in the hands of federal regulators. Given that small business is the heart of the private sector, you might say that the taxpayers have been paying him to make their life more miserable by degrees. Ultimately, everything that he has done to control the private sector has resulted in higher prices to the taxpayer. But, what can you expect?Henry Waxman is a bleeding heart, pure bred liberal to the nth degree. He cares nothing for the welfare of the people, but is totally focused on making sure that wherever he is standing is the “center of power.” Ironically, Waxman is also another liberal blaming his “forced retirement,” as such, on the actions of the Tea Party.
There is no shortage of Tea Party bashers in the media or on the celebrity scene in Hollywood. In both cases, if these folks cannot win the day in terms using logic in an argument, then out comes the "race card." This bunch of bleeding hearts love to get their faces on your television and expound to no end on the virtues of frivolously spending your tax dollar on the ever-growing creation of more and more social programs which always get nicely tucked under the heading of “mandatory spending.” Don’t get me wrong here---I want my Social Security; I paid into it and I want it back. But this is the pony the liberals always ride out into the center ring when they put on their “slam circus” about the conservatives' and Tea Party's lack of compassion for the elderly and the hungry children of America. They use such platforms so they can ignore all the other avenues of waste taking place in our federal government. They tout the on-going “War on Poverty” that was initiated under the guidance of liberal president Lyndon Baines Johnson in his effort to create The Great Society. In holding up that banner, they fail to mention that the taxpayers of America have expended over $15 trillion dollars on that ‘war’ to date, and that poverty is at a higher level today than it was when this effort was initiated. This outcome, in their minds, is successful use of your tax dollars.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a water boy for President Obama, has kept the Senate gridlocked and log-jammed since the day that Obama was elected, and not by accident. Not one budget as required by law has passed and most have not made it to the floor for consideration, yet he blames the Tea Party movement for the ineffectiveness of the entire Congress and the inability of the House to act on measures. Never mind that budget plan after budget plan has been passed by House Republicans--Harry, in all his infinite wisdom and regard for democracy--will not let any budget plan get to the floor for a vote in the Senate. Reid belittles the Tea Party-approved elected officials in both the Senate and the House, yet gives them full credit for attempting to destroy the American system of government. Which way is it, Harry? You cannot have it both ways unless you are talking to people who you assume are idiots--the American public.
Many people in America are uninformed politically today. They are either not interested or feel that it requires too much effort to understand things. They totally throw their trust behind elected officials and then turn a blind eye, continually sending these same people back to the halls of power and allowing them to grow their liberal agenda unabated and squander taxpayer dollars, all in the name of gaining votes and controlling power. Thanks to the lack of awareness on the part of the American people, our system of government, so well-designed by our founders, is being destroyed right in front of our eyes by socialist politicians. They stand there willfully slitting the throat of the golden goose while telling you that the goose will be just fine. Once again, how can you have it both ways?
The damage that is being done to this nation both in terms of the Constitution and our national fiscal health will eventually have to be confronted or all will be lost. This nation will not be destroyed by a massive uprising or revolution, nor will it be destroyed by some enemy attack. The founders understood that the greatest enemy of this nation and the principles on which it was founded were insiders who lusted for greed and power and would willingly trade it all away to feather their own beds. The liberals with their socialist agenda will no doubt destroy this nation block by block as their political shenanigans and corruption eventually undermine every governing law put into place as a safeguard.
The Tea Party movement has obviously become the last bastion of resistance to that effort, since entrenched Republicans in Washington are more than willing to sell their conservatism down the river to save their own political necks. Conservatism is an absolute, not a function of convenience. Tea Party subscribers understand this. They understand that “we cannot have it both ways.”
