Of course, you know that Mrs. Clinton’s plan to save Social Security is rooted totally in the socialist philosophy of “wealth redistribution.” In a nutshell, she wants to remove the current income cap of $118,000 and move that number more towards $200K or $250K in order to bridge the shortfall of Social Security payouts over income. Once again she is shifting the burden of government plundering to those who have more income in order to cover the theft of our money. Most say that her plan is not workable and it will fail. As soon as I read her plan, I knew it would fail and for good reason—but not the reason you might suspect.
Certainly if more of working people’s income is taxed by Social Security, there will be more revenue flowing into the treasury, and that additional money would help to bridge the shortfall of revenue in future years. One would think that, would they not? But there is a big, big problem that does not get fixed in this plan. That problem is the federal government and the folks who are either elected or appointed to run it. None of that changes under the Clinton plan, so why would we expect the prospects for Social Security to be any different going forward?
For example, let’s say that you have a water bucket with part of the bottom rusted out. Initially, you didn’t mind as it was a small leak and you could still carry enough water to fill the water trough. But over time, rust and use stressed the bottom of that bucket until finally water was running out the bottom as fast as or faster than the bucket could fill up. Mrs. Clinton’s solution is the equivalent of trying to put more water into the bucket while ignoring the cascade out the bottom.
You may or may not know that former Democrat president Lyndon Baines Johnson was behind the legislation that allowed the federal government to consume Social Security and Medicare funds at will dependent on the need for cash in other areas. His actions created the requirement that the federal government could not have any “unused funds” on hand and that, in turn, created the initial hole in the Social Security bucket and allowed our elected officials to raid funds at will, leaving only government I.O.U’s in the coffer to pay future retirees. Over time, raiding Social Security funds became de rigueur, the first place officials headed when money was needed. That action shifted Social Security (and Medicare for that matter) from a benefit funded by individual workers to an outright Ponzi scheme in which the government was using money they took from you and me to pay off the benefit to someone else. The wheels fell off when the baby-boomer generations began to retire at a rate of 10,000 people per month.
Clinton’s plan does nothing to address this fundamental flaw—it simply increases the rate by which money comes into the Social Security coffer; it does nothing to stop money being taken out of it and used for other purposes. No doubt, Clinton thinks this will appeal to her “tax the rich” base. They, too, will be duped into thinking the rich are paying their “fair share,” when all that will happen is Hillary will rake in more money to control and funnel to her cronies in crime—probably laundered through the Clinton Foundation to reimburse her campaign funds. Oh, but she swears the foundation is a wholly separate entity. Yeah, right.
What a shame we do not have an objective media that would challenge her on the efficacy of such a plan. Instead they are all too consumed with making Hillary Clinton our the first Democrat/Progressive/ Socialist female president. Heaven knows, Carly Fiorina would not have received the same deferential treatment. Of course, this will be an even bigger disaster than was Barack Obama as our first Black president. Thanks to corrupt elected officials such as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, the USA will be offloading a heap of debt onto our children and grandchildren, who, in all likelihood, will live lives scraping by. But Mrs. Clinton and her hubby don’t have to worry much about that—they’ve set aside plenty for their progeny. As usual, what’s good for everyone else has nothing to do with them.
